Recipes & Upcoming Event with Pitaiyo


Next Saturday, June 17th, Pitaiyo will be hosting their annual Yoga Mala - Land or Stand Up Paddle. This is a donation event and all donations will benefit Friends of the Rappahannock River.

The event is will be held at City Dock Park and is open to all ages and all levels, beginner to advanced. Be sure to bring a mat for land or a board for SUP, they can be rented from River Rock Outfitter or Virginia Outdoor Center.

The schedule for the day is:
9am - 10am - Yoga Mala
10am to 10:30am - Refreshments & Social

Alex, the owner & force behind Pitaiyo offered Fredericksburg Foodie fans a few of her favorite recipes, this Watermelon Cooler is a healthy way to enjoy a mocktail or cocktail. Alex notes that watermelon has an enzyme that helps rebuild muscle, making this a great choice!

Watermelon Cooler

1/2 a seedless watermelon
Handful of fresh basil
Juice of 2 limes
Club Soda, Tonic Water, Vodka or Prosecco - Your Choice!

Remove the flesh of the watermelon and place into blender. Add a handful of fresh basil and the juice of two limes. Blend, strain and pour a small amount into each glass, topping with the liquid of your choice. Enjoy!
